I'm an aunt again

Well, after several weeks of thinking he would come immediately, Brayden graced us with his presence on Monday, December 19 around 5ish. Tammie had a great labor (is that an oxymoron??) and everything was successful. He weighed 7 lbs. 5 ounces and Kevin and I are headed that way Wednesday and can't wait to see him. He was three weeks early but I'm thankful we are able to see him now. I posted a picture of my brother, who apparantly was errand man when her water broke. He was sent to get all the bags I was told and was a complete trooper. :) I'll post a pic of Brayden soon if I get permission from mom. But, so far mom and baby are well.

Well, we made it. Randy is an official graduate of Abilene Christian University (sort of, still has one class left) and thankfully we had no weather trouble getting to Texas. I will say, as we were taking off, one of the Southwest Airline flight attendants began talking with her co-worker about the Chicago plane that slid off the runway. . . not very comforting when you are seven months pregnant and about to fly with the same company. I've got precious cargo, man. Thankfully we made it to Dallas and things were okay. Graduation was great (as great as graduation can be I guess...Obviously boring and I'm sure my brother would agree). Anyway, I posted a pic of he and I after the ceremony. Doesn't he look so grown up?? Up top is Kevin, me, Randy, dad, mom, aunt judy, and my sweet grandma who we were thankful could make the trip.
After graduation mom and I drove back to Fort Worth, snagged Tammie (who kept her baby in over the weekend and no plans were altered...thank you, Tammie) and headed to my shower at my sweet sister-in-law's house, Susan. It was so much fun, although I was sooo tired. I got lots of good stuff. On the right is a picture of my hostesses, Laurie, Chelsea, Susan and Tammie. On the left (I couldn't figure out how to post the pictures next to my writing so they are all crammed up top) anyway, on the left is me opening my gifts with my mom in the chair and sister beside me. The brown and white thing in the bag is my baby bedding. Can't wait to put it on the crib. Anyway, it was a great, eventful weekend and I'm glad things went down without a hitch. Now we get to wait for Tammie to have her baby and Christmas!! Fun stuff. Tammie asked me to do a baby dance for her because she's tired of being pregnant. I shook my belly from side to side, maybe that will send her into labor. . .

Looks like I’ll have another nephew soon. My sister isn’t due for another 3 ½ weeks but has been having contractions 15 minutes apart and all the other stuff they look for is progressing as well. Let’s hope he waits, we’re flying to Texas Thursday night for graduation Friday and a baby shower Saturday. My mom is in a panic because all three of her children have major life events (well, if you call a baby shower major….it’s my first one so it’s major to me) and she’s stressing over having to make a decision on which one to attend. It’s funny how life works out that way.
Speaking of life working out funny, it’s supposed to snow on Wednesday in Texas and Thursday in Tennessee, what do you know…that’s when we are traveling. We got snowed in last year for Christmas and it hadn’t snowed all year long in Memphis except the day we were flying out. Kevin said, “why do they always pick the day we travel for bad weather”. I said, “ugh, you mean why does God pick the day we travel”. I think he thought there was a weather fairy that tipped off the weather men so they could shoot the report to us. He’s funny. Say a prayer for all the Fuller/Shelton/Conway events this weekend!!

Update

Thanks for the prayers for Kevin's dad. He was discharged yesterday and is recovering at home. He is wearing a difibrillator so he's a bit uncomfortable. Supposedly it's a portable one right now then he'll be fitted for a permanent one in a few months. He also is diabetic now so he'll have to make lots of changes in his diet. I talked to him today and I think that part makes him nervous because he's used to eating what he wants. He is on a lot of medication so life will not be as easy for him as it was a few weeks ago. Please pray he can adjust to this new lifestyle so this doesn't happen again.

Things are going well for us right now. We are headed back to Texas next weekend for my brother's college graduation and a baby shower. That's my brother in the picture pointing at the camera and that's his very awesome band, Poor Rich Folk. If you like Caedmon's Call type music you definitely should go to their website and order a cd. They rule. www.poorrichfolk.com

I'm so proud of my brother. Not necessarily because he graduated from college (although that's a big deal and not easy to do) but because I've lectured him for four 1/2 years NOT to get married while attending ACU and he did it. Now, if you're reading this and you got married while in ACU please don't take offense. Lots of people find their soul mates there and are extremely happy, however, several of my friends at ACU were very close to marriage to the WRONG person, myself included. Too many times people rush into it and end up making a mistake. I did not want him to be that person. So he did it. He' s graduating next Friday and doing it flying solo. He did date and had a pretty serious girlfriend, but realized she wasn't his future wife and broke it off. How hard is that! I wish more people would put much thought into their relationships because marriage is no joke. I could have married the wrong person and been miserable, same with Kevin. Luckily God slapped both of us in the head and we ended up finding each other after college. So weird how things work out. Anyway, I plan on giving my brother a big hug and telling him how proud I am of him for keeping a good head on his shoulders with relationships. Way to go, Randy!!!
