Austin-he's going to Texas A&M...smart guy
Austin and Nora
Nora and Aunt Lo lo (kevin's sister Laura...all the nieces and nephews call her lo lo)

Nora and cousin Ethan
Nora and Austin-THE GRADUATE!!! Yea Austin
Uncle Pat was sweet enough to hold Nora during the graduation ceremonies...she loved uncle pat
Nora dozed off when we all went out to eat after graduation...she was totally maxed out
Now we're gearing up for my mom to come for a week 1/2 to keep Nora while I finish up work. I CAN'T WAIT and neither can mom. woo hoo!!!

One thing I love about having a blog is receiving support when you need it. I think only moms can understand what truley happens when you hand over your child to someone else, responsible or not. We are still thinking and praying about what to do and how to work it out financially, but I want to thank all who commented for your support and well wishes. It makes me feel better knowing others went through this and came out okay. None of you are living on the streets that I know of. :) I'm thankful I have a husband who is willing to eat tuna with me everyday so I can do this. It will be better in the long run.

On a happier note, Nora had her first trip to the Great State of Texas this weekend. We flew to Houston for my nephew's graduation. She did great, although flying to another state for only three days with a 12 week old is no joke. Very stressful but we made it. I'll post pictures when I can.

thanks again sweet friends!!

Meredith's way more interested in Nora's bow than taking a picture
This was after about 12 pictures...we got them both semi-looking at the camera
We realized this was the easiest way to capture these two cuties. Just hold them up...

Nora is getting to spend lots of time with my friend Kate's daughter, Meredith today. After mucho babysitter drama, Kate watched Nora for me today until noon, then I'm keeping Meredith tonight. It's great to have friends to help out. Speaking of the trauma, we had our second babysitter fall through and I refuse to put her in day care, so I'm in the process of making some tough decisions. I am trying to work it out so I can stay home with her. If you think about it, say a prayer for us. I'm abandoning a job I love and may never get back if I leave, but the reward is so much greater. I'll have to decide soon so your prayers are coveted.

In the meantime, I'm going to play with Nora and Meredith tonight and enjoy life with two babies in the house. . .

Nora and Daddy

Nora loves hanging out with her dad. Today we watched him play softball, even though it was hotter than blue blazes, Nora didn't care.
Here's Nora watching from her stroller
Okay, she was really sleeping, but don't tell Kevin. We promise we saw that great hit up the middle of the field, honey.....
Once she got a wiff of him she wasn't sure about this softball thing anymore
Here she is sleeping on dad's lap after a terrible day at the babysitters Friday
Playing "up" with Kevin....it's a game he plays where she pulls herself up from a lying down position. She loves to play and works so hard at pulling up
Yes, Kevin is putting our two month old on our 100 lb. dog....yes, he's 30...poor Denver is trying to make a run for it
Dad playing first base today....not sure why the pictures didn't post in order
Nora with a diaper on her head....dad again. :)

Thomas and Nora playing on Saturday
Nora practicing her leg strength (I tried to take the picture while holding her, not easy) I think she looks like Meredith here, Kate...
Hanging out in her bouncy vibrating chair....
Playing with Thomas again
Lying in her boppy after a bath...another favorite of hers
Just being cute
Thomas feeling her head for fever (she did have her shots recently)
Daisy was also a support after those nasty shots...she made sure Nora was comforted (although it looks like she's about to eat her because she's licking her chops)
Denver was right by her side as well....we have overly supportive dogs
Finally Thomas trying to steal Nora's pacifier....not a smart thing to do, my friend.

Here's the truth: the battery of our camera died and I'm too lazy to change it. Sorry it's been a while.

We have been so busy lately. Kevin started a new job, which he loves, but it's taking a toll on his brain. He also worked at Memphis is May this weekend ALL day long Saturday and Sunday and part of Friday. It's a big music festival that comes here every year so he wasn't too miserable. I took care of Nora all weekend, babysat my friend's baby on Saturday (I'll post a pic as soon as the battery issue resolves itself), went to eat Sushi Friday with my friend and dinner with another friend on Sunday. All of this with Nora. She was great while I drug her everywhere. I'm coming down with a cold or something so I've been on drugs for a few days which is affecting Nora's sleep. This makes Kevin and I extremely sleepy because even though we trade off getting up with her, the other one still wakes up from all the comotion. Hopefully things will be normal again soon. Meanwhile, Nora is changing every day. Yesterday she made a noise. I'm not sure what it was, but it was definitely a noise. Like a coo or something. I'm pretending this is the first time she's done it. Surely she wouldn't do something like that at the babysitters instead of saving it for her mom. She knows better.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies

On Monday we decided at the last minute to take advantage of the Mavericks playing the Grizzlies for possibly the last time this year. We hopped in the car and drove downtown hoping to get a ticket. Being that Memphis doesn't have the most supportive fans in the world, there were plenty of tickets left. I'm sure all you planners out there (you know who you are) are gasping at the thought of doing this spontaneously, but we're hoping that having a baby hasn't slowed us down or turned us into schedulers, because we are sooo not schedulers. We'll see how that's working for us in a few years. :) ha... Nora did great, as you can see she was a little bored at the game but lucky for us she slept most of the time and was content when awake. We had lots of fun!! Go Mavs!!

TWO MONTHS OLD!

Nora playing with her toy that makes noise...she loves to look at the lights and bright colors
Nora just being cute
Nora and mom after her sixth day at the babysitters
Her new favorite thing: smiling

Today is Nora's two month birthday! She now can smile when we make stupid faces in front of her, she's interested in reading books and actually looks at the book, she holds her head up, likes to stand on mom and dad's legs and practice her leg strength, and she's way bigger! We have to get shots on Wednesday so I think I need way more mental preparation that she will. I've got my bottle of Children's Tylenol ready...
