Memorial Day Weekend

My sister came to visit this weekend with her husband, Scott, and two kids Bryce and Brayden. We had so much fun. Tammie's got pictures from the park which are much more interesting than mine. I always get too busy having fun and forget to take pictures when people come visit. I took a few on the last day they were here, but all of mine ended up being inside, which is wierd because we spent 85% of the time outside. Hopefully Tammie got some better ones than I did.

Come back soon Sheltons!

We've had a busy few weeks. It's funny how in a matter of days your whole entire calendar for May can fill up. Whew. We're eagerly anticipating the arrival of Aunt Tammie, Uncle Scott and cousins in a few weeks, but until then I thought I'd share some of what Nora's up to these days. My mom sent two wedding dresses for her (she's in my brother's wedding in June) and with it, she sent these white gloves just for fun. For the first few days Nora would walk up to me, say something to the effect of "put these on" and then stare at them all afternoon, screaming if they fell off. I had to snap a pic.

Her new thing now is to stand on my stomach while I'm lying on the floor. I tried to capture it while it was happening. Usually she sits on my stomach first and starts bouncing, then when she gets tired of that she stands up. Yes, it hurts. The stomach standing game is not long for this world. She's getting way too heavy.

Finally, Nora loves to play with the basketball. She picks it up, which you can tell is not easy, then throws it down and tries to bounce it. I thought the picture of her holding the ball is hilarious. She still loves her daddy and anytime the phone rings or door opens she starts saying "dada, daddy" over and over and over. It's too cute. We've got close friends moving to Switzerland next week so we're trying to spend every minute we can with them and with the end of school, weddings, showers, etc. we are staying so busy. I'll be glad when summer comes. I only get a month off (only-ha) since I'm the counselor, but what a job, huh? I can't wait to do lots of things with Nora during my time off. One more month! !

We spent the weekend at a friend's lake house for some much needed R&R. It was so great. I'd like to give a shout out to my childhood friend, Candice, who kept Nora for us. You can click on her blog for pictures of Nora's weekend. I'm afraid any thoughts Candice might have had about having a fourth are long gone. It was the first time I've been away from Nora for over 8 hours so I was afraid it would be impossible to enjoy the time away. It was very comforting to leave her with a very good friend who I knew had much experience. I did really well and so did Nora. Hopefully this means she's ready for longer stays with the Texas relatives in the distant future, now I just have to work on getting ready for that one. :)

****Husband comment*****
For the record, I was joking by putting my hand on my hip in that picture. I mean, come on. I was being stupid which is common but b/c this picture has been blogified, I have to make sure this is known. Look at me. I'm on a balcony in the woods. I'm gonna put my hand on my hip. On a cool note, I killed a wasp with a magazine. Like, a mid air, flying right at you home run swing. Yea, that makes me much cooler. That was right after my girlish shreeks and epileptic movements to run away from the deadly wasp.
