We sold our car and got Kevin a beater to drive.
This is what he bought. A 1987 Volvo baby.
Good things: The outside paint still looks great for a 19 year old car, it's a total chick magnet.
Bad things: The floor has a hole in it...kind of like the movie Where the Heart Is when her flip flop falls through the hole while they are driving.
It doesn't have power windows. You should have seen Kevin's face when he had to roll the window down by hand to talk to me.
There's white powdery stuff all over the back seat like someone had a crack party in the back of the volvo.
The back seats are bright blue and don't even remotely match the front seats.
Finally, you can't put a cd in when it's in park. There's no room. You have to put it in drive in order to fit the cd in the player.
It's awesome.

First of all, I'm so glad that it's been a better week for Nora. :) That makes everyone much happier!!
Also, love the new wheels. They are so vintage cool. I'm sure Kevin looks quite GQ behind the wheel.
Oh, and good luck starting work up again. I hope it is the perfect balance of adulthood and mommyhood all at the same time.
Ssssssweeeeeeeet.
I love it! This will be a story you tell Nora later on in her life when she is being a difficult preteen about the sacrifices you have made for her! My parents used to always tell me that on Friday nights they would walk to Safeway and buy a Dr. Pepper from the machine to split. They could only afford one because me and my brother were soooo expensive! I am so proud of you guys for letting go of the Mazda. One of Ryan's Praise Baby videos has the song "Be Thou My Vision" on it and I love the verse that says, "Riches I need not, nor man's empty praise. Thou mine inheritance now and always...." Just sing that to yourself when you are crankin that window down!
Hey guys, Chris' jeep doesn't even have a cd player. I still make him MIX TAPES for that car. The Volvo rocks.
That's HOT!
Pimp my ride Memphis style! Love it, kid. Don't begrudge the manual roll down windows. It just reminds you of where you came from.
Now all you need in the winter is to drive around in a smoking jacket with pipe and windows manually rolled down and you are set.
(if you are cool enough you might be able to install a horn in the hole in the floorboard, ala the pasa get down dena g-pa pontiac)
Man! I forgot about that Pontiac. That floor horn was great and a good idea for the Volvus.
